Alan Gill

Alan was born in Lincoln County and raised in the community of Petersburg. He graduated from Lincoln County High and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Agri-Business. Alan has been a realtor since 1977 and is past president of the Board of Realtors of Bedford County. He currently holds a broker’s and auctioneer’s license and is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser for the State of Tennessee. He is an active member of the Shelbyville Rotary Club.

Alan, being raised on the family farm, learned the aspects of hard work in the rural setting of Petersburg. Dealing with the sale of cattle, tobacco and hay gave him the ability to develop people skills at an early age. After college Alan went to work with an insurance company based in Lebanon, TN. He and his wife decided to move back to where they were both raised in Southern Middle Tennessee. He then began his career in real estate and then later in the appraisal business. Alan still works on the family farm. He enjoys having a hobby farm of his own and still keeps his ears and eyes open to enjoy his favorite past-time—baseball. His hobbies also include hunting and fishing.

He is married to the former Teresa Wheeler, who is a teacher at the Adult Learning Center in Shelbyville. He and his wife have two sons, Bo and Tyler. He is also an active member of First Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon.
